As a B Corp, Evergreen is committed to using business as a force for good. We hold fast to this commitment in many ways. We’re always striving to improve the way we function as a business, both in the work we do and how we impact the world around us. Our focus is not limited to day-to-day improvements in our work. Instead, we seek to continually provide meaningful responses to crucial concerns in our communities and environment. Below are a few examples of how Evergreen responds.

In response to climate change
Since beginning the B Corp certification process, Evergreen has voluntarily calculated and purchased Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) and Carbon Offsets for home office energy usage and mileage driven for business purposes in order to minimize the impact our business makes on the planet and align with Evergreen’s core values.

    • RECs – are purchased to ensure that the electricity used by Evergreeners can be attributed to a renewable source. Examples are investing in community solar or wind projects or international clean energy development projects.
    • Carbon offsets – are purchased to offset the carbon produced by burning fossil fuels, like natural gas/propane for space heating or gas/diesel for personal vehicles by Evergreeners.

In both cases, Evergreen has worked with Bonneville Environmental Foundation to identify and purchase impactful offsets to ensure we are walking our talk and encouraging an environmentally sound future for all.

In Response to Tragedy
Recent acts of gun violence in the U.S. shook the nation. In response to the unimaginable loss and devastation experienced by the communities and families, Evergreen made donations on behalf of the entire team to the survivors and families of victims in Buffalo and Uvalde. The funds are 100% directed to the affected families. Donations were made to the Uvalde Strong Survivors Fund and the Buffalo 5/14 Survivors Fund.

In Response to the Need for a More Inclusive World

Evergreen has established an EDI Committee and is committed to a focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. The committee’s mission statement is strong and true.

The EDI Committee supports and advocates equity, diversity, and inclusion through Evergreen’s core values (Meet Needs, Adaptive, Relationships Matter, Excellence, and Community). We will represent all team members and hold Evergreen leadership accountable in the integration of equity, diversity, and inclusion into all aspects of the company. We will provide ongoing company-wide EDI education, dialogue, and individual support to foster an environment where everyone is and feels welcome and can be their authentic selves.

This year the EDI Committee made it a priority to dedicate the Juneteenth holiday as a day of service. Planned Give Back Projects were organized in three regions across the country for team members to honor and observe Juneteenth.
