This year in observance of Juneteenth, Evergreeners will have the opportunity to get involved in regional Giving Back projects. Below is some introductory information for each region. More information will be coming soon for team members to get involved.

MIDWEST/EAST COAST

In the Midwest/East Coast Region, we will be working in tandem with Energy Sciences’ team to address the needs of Green Things Farm Collective. As a group, we are identifying and working to install EE measures in their greenhouses.

This majority women-owned farm is a Giving Back partner due to their commitment to enhancing minority-owned farms and farming programs in the Michigan community.

NORTHWEST

In the Northwest, we will be partnering with Living Cully for our Juneteenth Giving Back Project. The goals of Living Cully are very well in line with our Giving Back focus on Juneteenth. They have an ongoing list of individuals or families in need of help with projects that are essentially ready to move on when volunteers are identified. They partner with several other great organizations including, Habitat for Humanity, Hacienda, Verde, and NAYA (recipient of a previous giving back project) to improve the lives of people of color and low-income communities in Portland.

One of the ready-to-go opportunities they have is a list of homeowners in a manufactured home park in the Cully neighborhood who are in need of repairs. Some of these repairs may include replacing windows or fixing leaks but may be larger depending on the skills of the volunteers.

INTERMOUNTAIN WEST

In the Intermountain West Region, we will be collaborating with the Utah Arts Alliance and Beloved Community on their annual Juneteenth celebration. The event is also a business expo highlighting black-owned businesses where there will be booths for entrepreneurs and artists. We will be sponsoring and volunteering at the event.
