Don’t know where to start? Wondering what’s eligible? Need examples from the team? Unsure of how to track your time? We’ve got you covered. This month we’re breaking it down for you in detail.
We want to get the word out about Evergreen’s Volunteering program to make sure everyone knows how it works and can easily take advantage of the opportunity to support your local communities. We hope this benefit helps you find time to tackle projects for causes that are meaningful and important to you. In addition, we’d love to see pictures of your volunteering time!
Where to start
1. Understand your available hours.
Click on your name, and when your employee card opens, click on the last item “Absence Hours”.
2. Know how to bill your time.
Open the applicable timesheet and search for “NBOH-VLNT” to find the 2024 billing code. Add your hours and a note about your volunteer time there.
3. Find a local opportunity.
There are many ways you can go about finding a volunteer opportunity. You might already have a local non-profit you’re familiar with. If not, an online search for “volunteer opportunities near me” may bring up some great options. You could also visit your local Chamber of Commerce or Community Center to ask if they know of any available opportunities.
4. Coordinate with your supervisor for approval and timing.
Before scheduling your time with the organization of your choice, be sure to get your selection and the timing of it approved by your supervisor.
