Using business as a force for good is a B Corp commitment and Evergreen is committed, or possibly addicted to making changes… one cup at a time.
As a thank-you gift for the one-year anniversary, Comfort Ready Home team Field Supervisor, Ben Rousseau, opted for a metal, double-wall insulated tumbler from MiiR, a fellow B Corp, rather than purchasing from a world-renown monster cup manufacture. Ben prioritized purchasing products with a purpose. According to their website, MiiR makes premium stainless steel vessels for coffee, beer, wine, and food, all of which rely on three things at their core: water, earth, and the relationship people have with both. They sit at the nexus of these three critical elements by setting aside a portion of revenue to fund projects focused on clean water, a healthy environment, and strong communities. MiiR is also a member of 1% for the planet — an international organization whose members contribute at least one percent of their annual sales to environmental causes.
MiiR is a design-forward company. Every MiiR product is designed in-house and emphasizes four design principles: minimal, sustainable, functional, and enduring. And they are Generosity Driven, every MiiR product sold helps fund “trackable giving projects” at the intersection of communities and the environment.
What is a trackable giving project? Each MiiR product has a “give code” or QR code boldly emblazoned on it. My cup links to Project #72 Bikeworks – dedicated to the vision of a just world where young people are empowered to live active, healthy lifestyles while contributing to the health of our communities and our planet.
So kudos to Ben and the Comfort Ready Home team for choosing some super cool AND sustainable swag!
